Daniel 3:10-12
--TheSecretPlace--
To answer my title, and what my main point is, is healthy godly relationships. One thing I, and many have learned is that you cannot run this race alone, we need God, and we need others to push us on, and encourage us.
Let's dig into this Scripture.
Daniel 3:10-12
v.10- The Chaldeans remind the king of his command to worship the idolatrous image.
v.11- The Chaldeans remind the king of the consequences he set up against those who did not obey his command.
v.12 says-- ''There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon(which is where the idol was set up-v.1-): Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, PAY NO ATTENTION TO YOU; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you set up."
YES!!! Ones who remain faithful to Jesus! All the way. These guys truly do blow me away. Here they are in the higher places of authority in the province of Babylon, and even though threatened with death chose to remain faithful to the LORD, they chose that no matter what they would not bow down to any false god, but only the True, and Living God.
When these guys committed themselves to the LORD they understood that no matter what their tolerance of evil would be 0, and their stand for God would be their everything, the very thing about them that stands out-literally-. Their lives are lives we can look at and say-This is what it looks like to keep your eyes on Jesus, because they did not even consider going the way of Satan.
The Chaldeans even note the fact that they completely ignored the task, and the command of king Nebuchadnezzar, and all of the talk of idol worship. They kept themselves pure by setting their ears even to the voice of the LORD instead of the voice of this world. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego kept themselves pure.
We need to be people to be so kept pure that when others begin to talk of what is not of God, or good our ears and our attention turns away from the bad, and we focus on the good, we focus on the LORD.
As the people of God we need desperately need to be in the constant place of removing us from the equation of evil, from the realm of godless chatter.
The stand for purity means that we are standing against ALL impurity. From bad thoughts, to (bad) imagination, to Television. What you let in is 10 times harder to get completely out, so the us one reason why we need to desperately need to give ourselves to the place of prayer.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had so many amazing, admirable, qualities, but before I end I will end on the most important, and those are....
1->They had a good solid relationship with God.
2->They had a good relationship with each other.
They fellowshipped with God, and with one another. Without these relationships what are we? If we were great, and got many awards what would it matter if we were known or not. Nothing matters without relationship, and I will be talking more about this tomorrow, but I just want to challenge you to focus on those things which are needed, and those things deeply connect with what you are doing in the kingdom of God.
We need people to be completely honest with. We need good strong, and godly relationships. Let us pursue what is good in the LORD together.
Be blessed
---Intercession---
Lord, I just pray that you would fill us, Your people with living understanding, and with a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. Please help us to cultivate good relationships with you, and with one another. Help us LORD to cease to do evil, and learn to do good. I pray that you would deeply convict us, and show us Your heart, pour out Your blessings. Thank you LORD, we LOVE YOU! I bless you In Jesus Name. Amen
