Exodus 16

-TheSecretPlace-
I, this morning was pray-reading through Exodus 16, and God just showed me that which I did not expect... As I went through this chapter, I kept on praying for the youth of Dothan, and specifically the girls. I have been thinking about all of the friends I have that are really pursuing the LORD, and I realize more and more how different our parts are in the Kingdom, as men and women. The LORD has just been showing me how He views us, and how He does not one bit consider men better than women, or women better than men. But we instead complement each other. There is a great need for both men and women in the Body of Christ to step up and take the torch of prayer, and actually be used by the LORD to set others on fire.
So the LORD has given me, I guess what I consider a mandate, and a promise that I will hold on to until it becomes so, and that is to call the youth of Dothan to gather together to pray, and I believe that, that will happen, whether it be this week or in fifty years.
Back to Exodus.
So here, the Israelites are in the wilderness, from just getting out of what God calls, the house of bondage, which was slavery to the Egyptians. After being slaves for years and years and years the LORD finally hears their cry, and sends Moses to deliver the people. So they are in the desert and start complaining once again because they are hungry and have gone without food for a while, and they complain to Moses, and getting furious with him for bringing them into the desert, thinking he did it so that they could just die in the desert... and it is really crazy all the things they say. So Moses and Aaron set them straight, and tell them that God said that He was going to rain bread from heaven so that they will not starve to death, God told Moses that He was testing the Israelites to see if they would obey Him, and the Israelites are still complaining and then Moses says to them "Come near before the LORD, for He has heard your complaints." and as Aaron was talking the GLORY of the LORD APPEARED in a cloud!! and the LORD announces that by the manna(daily bread), you shall know that I AM the LORD your GOD....
The story goes on and the LORD provides, but as I was reading this and praying through it, I was struck with this story line that the LORD is bringing us to... He is calling His Bride to the wilderness, and He is just saying "Come near to me, and come away with me'' and when we finally do I believe He is going to show us His glory, and make Himself known!
I believe, and this morning began to look at it as a holy proposal to His people to even now, before He splits the sky, to come away with Him and get to know His heart.
and to tie this in with the whole need of leadership in both men and women in the church!
I feel like women are really looked down upon, by a lot of men honestly, maybe because we are more fragile, and emotional, no matter how much some try to hide it, or maybe because most aren't as strong physically as men are, and I want to just dispel the lie from the enemy that says a woman's role in the church is less affective than a man's. Even though this may seem a little silly, this is a very important issue, and the LORD made women the way we are for good. We are more emotional, so how much more can we be in tune with the emotions of God... Since we are girls, it is easier to view ourselves as the Bride of Christ. In the beginning at the fall of man, Eve wooed Adam to take the apple, what if we instead decided to take away the apple....
So I just want to encourage any woman of God who feels put down by the world saying you have nothing to offer, because you have so much more than you even know to offer.
And Men!
Are such leaders in the church, and I just want to encourage any male, who feels like they are not leaders, and that you have nothing to give, rebuke those lies. You are really the covering over the Bride, and I believe that the LORD moves in such power through you, the impact you have on our culture is unreal, and if you would step up and walk in your identity in Christ, you will be amazed at how God will use you.... There is so much that goes unsaid of the influence you have, and when you chase after God, it already pushes others on in doing the same...
So all of that to say!! Start a prayer meeting!! Do something to rise up, and say yes to God to go to the wilderness. Most of the time there is little understanding in the beginning of doing something like that, and then glory comes, and it makes a bit more since, but we have to set our minds on going after God, being available to Him, even if we are never used in this age, and even if we are just praying for the rest of our lives... Oh the treasures in heaven we will hold on to forever!
So be blessed today, pray about what I just said, and learn from the LORD what He would have you do. For divine ideas I would say going to the prayer closet is your best bet at finding one!!
