1 Corinthians 9:24-27
--TheSecretPlace--
I have realized that as you are on your walk with God, which is all the time, it is really hard to spend set aside time with Him daily without some discipline. I know that when I first started having quiet times, it was the hardest thing (and it still is still pretty hard), to get alone, and quiet with God. I believe the enemy declares war on your quiet time more than anything, because when Gods people spend daily time with Him, and learn what is on His heart, and partner with Him in intercession, and continually gain knowledge of His will, the atmosphere around them literally changes, because they no longer speak continually out of anger, and they no longer speak with a bad attitude, but we speak in such a way as to release heaven on earth. Satan hates that. Satan absolutely hates the kingdom of light, he wants us to in every way further the kingdom of darkness, which we can choose to do by lashing out in anger, and speaking harshly to people, and about people.
I think all of you would agree that diligence, and discipline are good things, because they bring forth consistency, and good habits. When Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 that he disciplines his body, and makes it his slave.... To win the prize. His eyes were on Jesus, on eternal things. When we lay around lazy, being slaves to our body we are losing the race--says 1 Cor. 9:24-27.
When our eyes are on Jesus, and we are doing all we can to know Him, and to please Him, and to LOVE Him, and to establish His kingdom, I do believe that is considered as winning the race. This is really simple, we have to RUN(walk in diligence, and consistency) to win the race.
If we just lay around we will lose.
So DILIGENCE, and DISCIPLINE, and CONSISTENCY ARE GOOD.
I have had such a hard at times, but rewarding time being diligent, and disciplined in my walk with God. Even though sometimes I barely want to push through, and sometimes I am so reved up to spend time with God, but no matter what He always brings me through, and gives me the delight of His presence.
It is hard, but will we be willing to give all for God? Will we be willing to do whatever it takes to get our time with Him, to win the race?
I believe we will, and no matter how many times we mess up, we are still getting closer, and closer to the prize.
I want to encourage you to set aside a special time with the LORD every day, and He will meet with you and pour out His Spirit to you, and when it is really hard, and you feel bored, keep on seeking for the face of God, keep on pressing in He is faithful to meet with you, and to encounter Him even once is so worth all of the hours of prayer and worship to Him.
---Intercession---
Father I ask that you would be with each person reading this, and I pray that you would encounter them as they come before you day after day seeking your face. I ask that you would fill them with the knowledge of you. You are so good!! We love you LORD. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
