2 Timothy 1:6
-TheSecretPlace-
Man, the LORD is so good. Can I get an Amen?
For real, I am so overwhelmed by how much He loves us, more and more it seems like every day. He loves to drizzle over us the fragrance of His Name, and the nearness of His Spirit. Tonight I was reading, and praying Psalm 65:9, and in the NKJV it says that 'The river of God is FULL of water.'
What a good Word. I am so glad that I flow by His river, because I can never run dry when I am fully immersed in it, in His presence, and in His Word(water). I have realized that 'getting into worship' is not something we gradually enter into, but it is a choice to step into the realm of pouring out our adoration, and love to God through everything we do. I don't mean that we don't feel His presence more at some times, than others at all, I know for sure when the presence of God is heavy it is hard not to be fully immersed in worship. But I am talking about the times when you don't exactly feel like worshiping, and you don't really want to be where you are in life, those are the times where our worship to the LORD takes us giving ourselves to the purpose of worshipping the King of kings, and the LORD of lords. A life of worship is choosing to worship Him even when it is hard to. And sometimes it is hard.
The most amazing thing is that God blesses us for the times we deny our flesh, and He looks upon us with favor, and HE SEES US. He sees every sacrifice we make. He sees our brokenness, and how we still want Him when we are weak, and how we love Him when all of our strength is insufficient. He loves our efforts, and is not disappointed when we mess up. What abundant life!! (John 10:10) How do we cultivate this life of worship, and prayer? How do we get into this constant flow of worship, and prayer? How do we step into all that God has for us, how do we reach our full potential, even when we don't feel like we even have potential?
I believe that this lifestyle, and have found that this lifestyle can surely be cultivated, but only by completely giving ourselves to a life of prayer, and worship. Which does not mean locking yourself in your room and never coming out, and it doesn't mean you can't go to school or get a job, but it is giving God your best set aside time to pray. It is constantly getting to the prayer closet, and praying without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17). What does that look like for you?
What works for me may not work for you, so ask the LORD how He wants you to pursue this life of prayer. I think I need to ask Him that more often, because sometimes I think I am pretty good, then He opens my eyes to how much more ground there is to be covered.
This is what it is to fan into flame the gift of God, which is what I believe to be the best gift, ever.
I love you guys, and I am praying for you.
I just feel like the LORD would say to you tonight to
'do not lose heart, and don't stop pursuing the life you are pursuing in Him, what you are doing is seen, and you will see results, and you will make it through the hard times, continue to press in, and continue to come to Me. I am with you, and I see every movement of your heart towards Me.'
Get into the Word, and ask the Holy Spirit.
I also just want to say that everything I say about like cultivating a life of prayer, I would just like to add that these things are the ways I have found helpful in my own walk with the LORD, and He may be wanting you to pursue Him in a different way, so... yes, I just wanted to make that clear. =]
