-Meditation-
Exodus 17
-TheSecretPlace-
Today I was reading, and meditating on this passage and the first 2 verses caught my attention, and I have been so into this concept lately, and it is just popping up everywhere. It is pretty intense in my face.
So the Israelites go to Rephidim, but there was a problem.... and that was there was no water.... And so the Israelites contend with Moses, and they tempt God, and get mad at Him, and obviously they take their trust off of God, pretty much because they do not understand how God works. Obviously later Moses hits the rock, and water comes out.
This is what stuck out to me, that after all that happened in Egypt with God's signs and wonders, and miracles, and how God, Man!! He brought the Israelites out of their house of BONDAGE which they hated, and after all of that they stopped trusting in God.... They wouldn't trust the God who brought them out of bondage, and decay, and captivity.
But the thing is, we have done the same thing. We so often take our eyes off of the God who brought us out of our own brokenness. We were so dead, and He has given us life to the full, and yet, we still neglect time in the secret place.
The Israelites merely did not have understanding. How much more would we obey God if we understood Him completely?? There isn't much faith in that. How different would their lives had been if they had just trusted Him, through their own blindness.
So I am struck... How far will I go in my obedience to Christ, even if everything He does through me is unseen. How are we going to respond to Him when He calls us? I think we really can do this, I don't think this is an unattainable, and its not just for scholars, or theologians, it is for average Joe's... it is even for the people of God, and He made it to be fully attainable.
I want to challenge us to do the very thing that kills our flesh, to obey Him, when He calls us to do what is beyond our understanding-it sounds cool when we put it that way-. No matter how hard it may be, He is here pushing us on, and helping us. So lets set our faces, and our hearts on trusting Him.

Prayer focus: For the saints in the earth who are suffering persecution to be empowered, and strengthened for the sacrifices they have made for the LORD.
