The Beattitudes
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Being poor in spirit-To acknowlege that we are in great need of God's help to sustain our love for Him. We have to understand that we are weak and God is strong. He uses the weak things of the world to shame the strong. (1 Cor. 1:27...I think)
For theirs is the kingdom-- To me (and to the LORD) this is a big deal, as I was praying about this verse this is the main thing I got out of it...
When I acknowlege I am poor in spirit, I have the power and authority to pull heaven down. When I acknowlege I am poor in spirit I am in the total will of the Father.
To be poor in spirit is this. We are willing to ask God for what we need, like admitting to Him we need it, and admitting to Him that we need HIM. I am in such great need of GOD!

Thanks for making a post about this. I believe that the generation that will see the Lord's beauty is the generation that allows the Lord to come and live HIS life through them.
